Ashimwe Fiona Doreen was born in Rwanda. She is an Advocate registered at the Rwanda Bar Association and a member of East Africa Law Society.  Fiona earned her Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Institution of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) – Nyanza, Rwanda in 2018 and her bachelor’s degree in Law from Kigali Independent University, Rwanda, Kigali, in December 2016. 

Upon graduation, she availed herself of various opportunities to undertake legal practice, she provided legal consultations, advice and assistance to people and private companies in Rwanda, and she worked in law firms and government institutions like RDB (Rwanda Development Board). 

Apart from Legal professional field, she worked at SOS Children’s Village Rwanda (Kindergarten) as an English and French teacher for 3 years and she is a Founder of “URUBOHERO Girls’ Center”, a Peer Learning Center for adolescent girls.  This center empowers young women, provides vital education about sexual and reproductive health, good moral and ethical behaviors education, and fights against Gender Based Violence.  Finally, she personally contributes to promoting social justice by providing legal advice and help to young women.
